When watching the Olympics, keep in mind the 2026 Winter Olympics are being held in Milan and Cortina, Italy from February 6–22, 2026 and there is an olympic time change!
Italy’s time zone during the Games will be Central European Time (CET). The Greater Lansing area is Eastern Standard Time(EST), that means Italy is 6 hours ahead. That being said, If an event in Milan/Cortina starts at 7:00 PM local time (CET), that’s 1:00 PM in Michigan (EST).
So when your family is eating lunch, Team USA might already be competing on the other side of the world!
To stay on top of it, use a time zone converter (just Google “Italy to Eastern Time” or ask, Siri what time is it Italy?”) or rely on the NBC Olympics schedule, which automatically lists events in your local time.
