Dam Jam Music Festival at Fish Ladder Music Park in Old Town

July 17 - July 18
Dam Jam Music Festival is back for its 11th year, returning to the newly remodeled Fish Ladder Music Park in Old Town, the venue that started it all.

Free and open to all ages, the two-day festival (July 17-18, 5:01-11 p.m.) features 10 Michigan-based acts, including Headband Henny, Lord Kwaj, and Brie Stoner.
More about:

Originally launched under the name Bridge Fest as Lansing 5:01’s inaugural event, the festival
has now evolved into a free-to-attend 2-day celebration of Michigan-based artists, musicians,
and creators. First hosted at Rotary Park, the event later moved to the Brenke Fish Ladder in
Old Town, where Lansing 5:01 was one of the first organizations to activate the space for live
music performances. As the festival grew in size and popularity, its name was changed to honor
the iconic, in-the-round venue it was hosted at.

In addition to events like Lansing Restaurant Week and the Grand River Connection networking
services, the Dam Jam Music Festival was created as a part of the Lansing 5:01’s strategy to
retain and attract young professionals to the Lansing region.

“Bringing the Dam Jam Music Festival back to the Fish Ladder Music Park feels like a full-circle
moment,” said Josh Holliday, Director of Events for Lansing 5:01. “The Dam Jam began with a
simple vision: to transform this underutilized riverfront into a vibrant gathering place for live
music and community. To now celebrate the festival in this beautifully reimagined permanent
venue is incredibly meaningful. We’re grateful to the Capital Region Community Foundation for
investing in a space that not only showcases Lansing’s riverfront but creates lasting

opportunities for arts, culture, and community. The Fish Ladder Music Park is the perfect
backdrop to welcome thousands of music fans for another unforgettable Dam Jam.”
Lansing 5:01 CEO Samantha Harkins draws a straight line between festivals like Dam Jam and
the region’s ability to hold onto talented professionals. “Festivals like Dam Jam allow us to
showcase exciting things happening in Lansing. When people are considering a move to
Lansing or determining whether they should stay, moments that make them feel like they’re a
part of something special here are what move the needle in our region’s favor,” she said.
Admission is free for the Dam Jam Music Festival; those wishing to attend are encouraged to
