Meet Mackenzie and Quinn: The Dynamic Duo of SHUCKED
This week, we are thrilled to share a special couple as our Meet a Mom AND Dad feature! Shortly before the holidays, we had the honor of speaking with Mackenzie Bell and Quinn VanAntwerp, stars of the Tony Award®-winning musical comedy musical SHUCKED, coming to Wharton Center this January 21 through 26!
Mackenzie and Quinn are bringing their incredible talent to the stage—and are excited to share more about this hilarious musical, their roles in the show, and life on the road while raising a family. They’re currently traveling the United States with their 2-year-old daughter, and their ability to juggle parenting and performing is nothing short of inspiring! Most shows are a week long in one city, and then they pack up their belongings and move to the next. It’s a whirlwind lifestyle, but one they’ve embraced with love, resilience, and humor!
Quinn plays Gordy Jackson, who he describes as “the lovable bad guy.” Mackenzie, meanwhile, is a swing for the show, which means she can perform one of nine different roles whenever needed. “She works way harder than I do!” says her husband, Quinn. Mackenzie is the ultimate multi-tasker, “I think I have become better at this since becoming a mom!”

Shucked is a laugh-out-loud comedy with heartfelt moments, featuring toe-tapping songs and community. Quinn shares “a show about community and family, and getting back to a simpler value system where we can all agree to disagree and love each other at the same time.”
Mackenzie says “A wonderful shared experience, it’s joy, the music is beautiful and I don’t think anyone will walk out of there not having had a good time!”
