A full circle moment happened at Haslett High School today. Actor and 2009 Haslett grad, Nick Rehberger spoke to current Haslett High School theater and choir students.

Nick is back in his home town this week for his role as Inspector Javert in Les Misérables at Wharton Center! The popular Broadway show is in town now through Sunday!
Haslett choir teacher, Samara Valla welcomed her former choir student back to Haslett High and led a Q & A while the students listened enthusiastically. Mrs. Valla spoke highly of Nick and how he found his love of singing and acting while in the 8th grade. She mentioned how shy and introverted Nick was at first, then he slowly realized that acting was something he truly loved and he “found his voice” as a person and an actor. She also mentioned just how kind Nick was then and still is now- she contributes much of his success to this attribute.

Nick spoke highly about his time and fond memories while at Haslett High School- the trips he was able to go on with the choir and band programs and how important it was to him to keep connections with the teachers that had such an impact on him while in school. He also offered helpful advice to students about working with acting agents, what he does to take care of his mental health and how important it is to have other things in your life outside of acting.
We loved being in the audience listening to the back and forth chat between the students, Mrs. Valla and Nick. It was a such a special moment and we just have to say… Nick, Greater Lansing is incredibly lucky to have you back in town this week. We are ALL cheering loud for your continued success!
