We (as a whole and individually) provide helpful resources to busy families in the area through the website such as the event calendar that is constantly updated, guides & lists, Meet A Mom features, recipes, articles, and so much more – take a look around.
Is there a charge to use this site?
No, absolutely not!
Everything you see on the site is FREE. The site is funded through local advertising. If you enjoy the free resources here, please support any ads you may see on social media.
This type of support helps keep area small businesses thriving and connects you with these wonderful local businesses/resources!
Do I have to be a mom to use the site or follow on social media?
Absolutely not!
We have said from the beginning that this site is useful for anyone to use. Moms, dad, grandparents, step-parents, aunts, uncles, teachers, community members – EVERYONE is welcome here. The “moms” part refers to our parent company, The Local Moms Network.
Is this a mom group?
Technically no, there is no actual “group” – however, the social media accounts – Instagram and Facebook are where many fellow moms (& dads and others!) are following from.
The site is run by just two moms who reside in the Greater Lansing area. And have for our entire lives!! There’s no large team or interns – we are two fellow moms in the thick of parenting surviving each day just like you!
We are working to host some events in the future – though so stay tuned for more information!
What is the difference between Greater Lansing Area Moms and a local blog?

As I’m sure you know there are MANY local bloggers in the Greater Lansing area and GreaterLansingAreaMoms.com is not a blog, it is a community resource site. We are happily providing a service to the Greater Lansing community not just sharing my family’s daily happenings (although we do share some personal things on IG so if you like that kind of thing, be sure you’re following along – some real life and lots of fun!)
We do a lot of research to get the guides and lists and we know moms and families are looking for all of this information in one place. Our mission here with The Local Moms Network is to go beyond word of mouth. Our goal is to have parents all across the Greater Lansing area go to the site whenever they are looking for something to do or need help trying to find local resources.
Having one site to navigate is a whole lot easier than scrolling through Google or social media. We often say a lot of love and energy goes into everything we do here and we hope you enjoy it!
