🇺🇸 Honoring those who stood before us: Flags In on May 18th at EVERGREEN CEMETERY🇺🇸

Did you know that the cemeteries in the city of Lansing have been interring veterans since the late 1800s?

US veterans from the Civil War through present day have chosen to make these hallowed grounds their final resting place and continue to do so. This May prior to Memorial Day, friends of Evergreen Cemetery and the community along with veterans come together to place 5,000+ flags at each headstone as a symbol of appreciation for the service and sacrifice of those who stood before us.

This tradition continues. On May 18 at 10 a.m., a brief ceremony at Little Arlington and a hot dog cookout at the columbarium in Evergreen Cemetery sponsored by Little Arlington Project procession of the colors, a brief ceremony, and the placement of more than 5,000 + flags at each final resting place.

Community members are invited to join at Little Arlington in Evergreen Cemetery for this special tribute, as well. The event honors the lives and legacies of those veterans who stood before us, while connecting youth and community to the importance of service and sacrifice. Lest we forget.

Registration or sign up is not required but helpful in planning.  Consider signing up to participate at littlearlingtonproject@gmail.com

We hope to see you there! 🇺🇸
