Sensory Friendly Saturday at Capital City Market
Capital City Market has partnered with the Mid-Michigan Autism Association to bring sensory-friendly shopping hours to Capital City Market. On the second Saturday of each month from 8:30am-10am, we are creating a sensory-friendly environment by dimming the lights and turning off in-store music.
The store will still be open to the general public, however we have selected the hours based on times when our in-store traffic is typically less busy. These special hours are designed for our customers experiencing (but not limited to) PTSD, sensory processing disorder, anxiety, migraines, dementia, autism, epilepsy.
Special thanks to the Mid-Michigan Autism Association for their partnership, and in assisting us with offering a more inclusive shopping experience for our customers.
