East Lansing Schools Art Show Downtown East Lansing

Community members are invited to visit downtown East Lansing for a special art exhibit featuring artwork made by local students from kindergarten through eighth grade at various East Lansing Public Schools (ELPS) and other area educational institutions. The exhibit is sponsored by the Downtown Management Board and runs April 16-May 21.

In its fourth year, the showing will feature approximately 300 pieces of art from students at all six ELPS elementary schools, MacDonald Middle School, St. Thomas Aquinas Parish School and Stepping Stones Montessori.

Artwork is on display at the following participating businesses: Seams Fabric, Woven Art, Douglas J School of Barbering, Crunchy’s, Peanut Barrel, Newman Lofts, SBS, Jackson – The Zone, Rocket Fizz, Spartan Housing Cooperative, Quark, Campbells Market Basket grocery and café, TIC (325 E. Grant River Ave, Suite 300), Risky Studios, Potbelly and Foster Coffee Company.

“We are so excited to be partnering with the City of East Lansing for the fourth year in a row to display East Lansing students’ artwork,” said Eileen Sturm, elementary art teacher at Robert L. Green Elementary. “Our community thrives when we celebrate art as expressions of our humanity. This is a wonderful opportunity for our families and community members to explore downtown and see a variety of artwork that we hope you will enjoy.”
