EARTH DAY EXTRAVAGANZA at Fenner Nature Center

You’re invited to celebrate Earth Day here at Fenner Nature Center! Join us April 20 for our largest volunteer event of the year.

This year, we will return to the in-person, station-style stewardship event to prepare the park for the peak 2024 season. Whether you are an individual interested in helping to steward the park or part of a larger group looking for opportunities to make a positive impact on Earth Day, sign up for a shift or two today!

At the Earth Day Extravaganza, you can sign up for any shift between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. During your shift, you can select a conservation or stewardship activity, such as picking up trail trash, pulling invasive species, maintaining trails, or participating in one of our larger projects, like updating the Native Plant Garden.

Fenner staff will be on site to provide training and assistance. Once you head out to your station, feel free to float from activity to activity. Don’t forget to stop by the Visitor Center during the lunch break for additional activities, like BioBlitz hikes led by Fenner naturalists.

As the snow melts and invasives begin sprouting, spring is a critical time to manage the park and make sure it’s ready for the more than 65,000 visitors we see each year. We rely on YOU, our volunteers, to help care for the 134 acres and more than 4 miles of trail that make up the park.
