Tell us how Elliott Kids came to be!
Elliott Kids opened March of 2021. I opened the boutique for a couple of different reasons. First, I have always had this dream to open three different businesses focused on children and families. The first is a preschool, Children’s Enrichment Center, which we have had open for seven years now. The second is a children’s clothing boutique, and the third……..I’m not ready to share that yet. But, something very cool is in the works😉
I felt like the Lansing area was really lacking a good, quality children’s clothing store. We no longer have Gymboree, Crazy 8, etc. Our shopping options for children are very limited. I wanted to bring something new and fresh to the area and offer children’s clothing that you won’t find in your big box stores.
Elliott Kids offers beautiful, functional, unique, quality children’s clothing. We carry sizes Newborn-12 in boys and girls. We also carry shoes, toys, diaper bags, etc. While not all of our brands are organic many of them are. Our clothes are cute enough for family pictures, but functional enough for everyday wear. We also specialize in family looks, including some options for Mom and Dad.
You are having a Launch Party for your new boys clothing line, Me & Henry! What makes this clothing line so unique?
I decided to carry Me & Henry for several reasons. First being the quality of their clothing. I love that the pieces are durable and adorable. I also loved that they design the classic boy and kid look. All I ever see for boys is trucks and monsters. That’s been done over and over again and frankly I think it’s boring.
Lastly, I love that they have a sister company, Vignette, for girls and together they create entire family looks.
