The 3rd annual Izzo Legacy 5K Run/Walk/Roll is April 16, 2022
The event aims to connect Alumni, MSU and Mid-Michigan communities in a positive celebration of Coach Izzo’s legacy. The event is part of the Izzo Legacy (Izzolegacy.com), whose purpose is to bring people together to benefit charities that are meaningful to the Izzo family and this community.
Since the inception of the Izzo Legacy 5K, the two events have raised almost $350,000 for local charities. This year, the event will support 13 local charities that contribute meaningfully to our community. Proceeds from the Izzo Legacy 5K Run/Walk/Roll event will help ensure charitable giving for years to come.
Lupe Izzo said, “Tom and I feel it’s important to give back to our community that has given us so much over the years. We know the generous work our selected charities do and the difficulties they have had over the last couple of years.”
Izzo added, “We are so pleased to be able to hold this event on the day of the spring football game, as we originally intended and to involve the City of East Lansing.“
Each 5K participant will receive a commemorative event medal, Nike t-shirt, commemorative race bib along with post race food and beverage.
