Martin Luther King, Jr. Day events and activities honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day 2022 is Monday, January 17. In addition to virtual celebrations, we’ve also included book suggestions, a craft idea and a link to an educational movie.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities.

Read a book together

The 2022 MLK Day of Celebration will feature four of the nine students, known as the Little Rock Nine, who volunteered in 1957 to desegregate one of the nation’s largest all-white high schools.
Their courageous actions tested the strength of the 1954 unanimous Supreme Court ruling Brown v. Board of Education that declared segregation in public schools unconstitutional. Broadcast LIVE 7-8pm on WILX and WLNS
