From fireworks and parades to family-friendly festivals, community celebrations, and outdoor adventures, you’ll find plenty of ways to make the most of the holiday weekend. And because 2026 marks America’s 250th birthday, we’ve also included some extra-special semiquincentennial celebrations, patriotic events, and opportunities to reflect on our nation’s history while creating new family memories.

The City of Lansing invites everyone to celebrate Independence Day on July 4th with a full day of events across the city!
🇺🇸 Including Magic with Chad and Music with Guy Sferlazza on the Capitol Steps from 12-1pm
