This workshop will help both novice & experienced writers experiment w/ writing so you can enter the “My Secret Lansing Writing Contest”
Get one of 10 free tickets to this Writing Workshop designed to help you jump start your creativity, tap into old but vivid memories, and focus your writing in ways that you could use to enter the “My Secret Lansing Writing Competition” — a writing contest open to residents (age 17 & older) of the Tri-County Area (Ingham, Clinton & Eaton Counties in Michigan).
The contest invites writers to submit poetry or short, non-fiction prose about a real place/person/ event or object within the Greater Lansing (Michigan) Area. In both categories (poetry & prose), the 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners, plus two Honorable Mention winners will receive cash awards. All submissions will be considered for publication in a book about the Greater Lansing Area. The contest deadline is July 14, 2023. For full contest guidelines, see:

The workshop facilitator will be Ruelaine Stokes, poet, performance artist and president of the Lansing Poetry Club. Ruelaine has taught writing—both creative writing and non-fiction—for many years at Lansing Community College, Michigan State University, and in community workshops.
