Snapshots of Brazil and Argentina
Come along with Fathi & Karen Saad as they explore some of the Amazon River Basin including the “Meeting of the Waters,” Rio De Janeiro, Copacabana Beach and the National Cathedral, Igussau Falls from Brazil/Argentina and walk miles through Buenos Aires to see Ricoleta Cemetery. Samba or Tango anyone?
Join Kylie Seling as she takes you through her four times traveling to the beautiful country of South Africa. Explore cities such as Pretoria and Johannesburg, then take a tour of Kruger National Park. Learn about the cuisine, music, schools, wildlife & more!
Bob Sheap & Pat Tomasik take us again with 15 other members of the Greater Lansing Friendship Force Club on the trip of a lifetime to Peru. A week visiting famed Peruvian sites in the High Andes: Lake Titicaca, Cusco, and Macchu Picchu, followed by a week with club members there on the Pacific Coast exploring and enjoying their music, dance and friendship.
Explore some major cities during this travelogue about China. Kay Meintz, a retired LSD media specialist, visited China in July 2018 visiting Dalian (industry), Behung (gov’t), Xian (terracotta warriors), Wuzhen (Miing Dynasty) and Shanghai (finance). Experience the culture, food and history of a country we ignore and downplay at our peril!
Join Dorothy Frederickson as she recalls her many visits to Haiti. If you love mountains you would love this country! In fact, the word Haiti means mountain. It is located on a tropical island which it shares with the Dominican Republic. It is where Christopher Columbus landed when he first came to North America. The later French Occupation left many rich historical sights to explore. It is also worthwhile to experience the cultural diversity of the people living there.
Grand tetons & beyond
What a road trip thru our northwestern states: 4 friends in a small car! Join Paul Schleusenter on this 6,000 mile trip in only 16 days! It’s a whirlwind tour of 6 beautiful and striking national treasures: Grand Teton, Craters of the Moon, Sawtouth Mts., N. Cascades, Glacier and Yellowstone. Such fantastic sights to see!
Mary Pollock returns to where she spent time while growing up. Explore this different way most travelers see the country of India. Such differences in so many ways!
vietnam & cambodia
For anyone haunted by the images of the Vietnam War, this travelogue offers an alternative, healing view. It is a visit by two friends Carol Gnich and Pat Tomasik in 2011 which paints a very different picture by focusing on the natural beauty, cultural richness, welcoming spirit and rising energy of two nations recovering from tragic times. It will give the viewer a
broader and brighter version than one of war.
Mindy Bos is new to our travelogues at Foster but has done extensive traveling and is happy to share her experiences with us. On a recent trip to Panama with a friend, she stayed at Dreams Resort. The fantastic views included barrier Islands, old Panama City and of course the Panama Canal. They even went hiking looking for sloths!
Winston Churchill called it “The Pearl of Africa.” Enjoy this visit to Uganda with Phil & Pat Ewing. They were teachers there for two years. View the diverse peoples and cultures of this country from the capital of Kampala to deep in the bush. We will also visit several national parks viewing the “big five,” colorful birds and primates including chimpanzees and mountain gorillas.
The enchanted princess
She’s back! Mindy Bos has also agreed to share her latest cruise with husband Troy on the brand new Enchanted Princess cruise ship with us! She will bring us up to date not only with everything new on board but the latest in health concerns and travel restrictions. They cruised the southern Caribbean including Barbados, Antigua, St. Lucia, and St. Thomas. Each stop has special things for them to enjoy.
