We are all really looking forward to our children being able to enjoy summer camps again this year.  Check out the fantastic listing of summer camps and activities in the Greater Lansing area – and beyond – that cannot wait to host your child this summer.

School of Rock’s music camps are a perfect introduction to our performance-based approach to music education. School of Rock’s music camps offer an incredible selection of experiences from beginner music camps to intermediate and advanced sessions. 

Our music camps often include performance boot camps, artist-themed camps, songwriting and recording, and more—there’s a camp for every interest and skill level. Most music camps end with an epic live rock show performed by the campers.

Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp

300 E. Crystal Lake Rd, Twin Lake

Blue Lake’s mission to inspire young artists to achieve their best has not wavered since our first day of camp in 1966. We offer a unique opportunity for students to look up, get inspired, and discover their potential as individuals and as musicians, dancers, writers, actors, and artists. It is our tradition. At Blue Lake we celebrate creativity, artistry, personal growth, and fun, in a special place where you can be yourself and do what you love.

Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp offers two-week sessions in Band, Orchestra, Jazz, Choir, Theater, Dance, Art, Creative Writing, Piano, and Harp. Blue Lake aims to take students at their current proficiency and help them reach the next level, regardless of their ability or experience. 

Programs are available for all levels, beginning to advanced. Enrollment is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis: there is no audition required for acceptance. Substantial scholarships to assist with camp tuition are available for motivated students, based upon both merit and financial need. 

Blue Lake welcomes 4,000 campers a summer, led by an esteemed faculty of 175 arts professionals, specialists, college professors, and secondary school instructors, with 200 college students ensuring camper care, safety, and endless camp fun.

High Caliber Karting & Entertainment

High Caliber Karting’s Racing Camp is a week-long (Monday-Friday) fun-filled experience for racers 8-14 years of age. The basis of the camp is to have kids graduate with a “Junior Racers Training Certificate” and experience a community of laughter and joy. Our staff has each day structured to include racing, instructions and tips, games, lunch, and then more racing.

Spartan Dance & Ninja

Spartan Dance Center is the capital area’s elite dance studio. We offer dance for all levels from recreational to competitive, with multiple programs to fit your family. Spartan Ninja Warrior training is specifically designed for kids. The focus is developing motor skills through mobility, balance, power, strength and endurance. We want to create a strong mind and body through fitness in a fun and safe manner. By learning new obstacles, athletes develop a positive mindset towards themselves and others. Living Arts Dance Studio

with 2 locations in the Greater Lansing area
409 N. Cedar Rd., Mason

Living Arts has assembled a fun and exciting slate of dance camps happening this summer at both our Mason and Williamston locations.  

Students will learn dance movements inspired by the theme of the dance camp, play games and do crafts that will spark their imagination. Dancing In The Streets Campers will be driven to each location by a Living Arts Instructor.

All campers for all sessions need to bring their own drinks and snacks.

Appropriate clothing (something comfortable and easy to move in) should be worn for all sessions. No open toe shoes or Crocs. Technique, conditioning and jazz/acro campers need leotards and some sort of dance bottom (tights, shorts, leggings).

All camps are limited to twenty (20) campers per session with the exception of Dancing In The Streets.

WILDCATS Athletics

Summer 2024 is about to get even better! Join us for our six weeks of wild camp adventures with all different themes. With a variety of activities and fun, your child is sure to make the most out of their summer and make memories that will last a lifetime! 

Along with the different themes each week, campers will get to run, jump, play, tumble, and climb in our open gym space that includes a variety of mats and a 40’ tumble track trampoline!

Our camps run 8am-5pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays throughout the Summer with early drop off and late pick options available for an additional cost.

Mystic Lake YMCA Camp

Overnight camp is the pinnacle of the summer experience! For over 90 years, Mystic Lake YMCA Camp is where memories are made … along with lifelong friendships, self-confidence, and independence.

Campers will unplug from technology and reconnect with nature, participating in a variety of traditional camp activities including canoeing, kayaking, water trampoline, fishing, high ropes, archery and more! 

Mystic Lake YMCA Camp is a 600 acre overnight camp with a private lake located in the village of Lake, MI. Register your child today for a summer they will remember forever!

Camp PaWaPi

Our summer adventure camp offered to children ages 5 to 11 years old is based outdoors, so the day is spent in the woods, fields, at the river on 50 acres of beautiful property in Williamston, MI. 

Campers will enjoy aspects of the traditional camp experience that range from canoeing, archery, arts and crafts, zipline and rock wall climbing. Treat your camper to a summer experience they’ll love — and one they’ll want to repeat, year after year. Whether you enroll your child for  a week, or an entire summer, they’ll leave with new friendships and memories of fun, outdoor adventure.

Our Summer Camps offer a wide variety of workshops that are sure to interest all kids with all different educational backgrounds. Our camps range from Kitchen Academy, Let’s be a Spy, and Robots to Young Entrepreneurs and Art.

We’re very excited about our First Bounce Academy with the DeWitt Area Recreation Authority! (NON-DEWITT RESIDENTS WELCOME!)

Our students will learn the fundamentals of basketball in a fun, educational environment. 

At the end of each session, our students will put on a showcase for their parents to show off their new skills.

Lansing Community College Athletics

Gannon Building Gymnasium – 3rd Floor, 400 N. Grand Ave., Lansing

The Lansing Community College Athletics Department offers skill-building day camps for kids in grades 3 – 12. Volleyball and basketball summer camps are open to children of any gender and typically run June through July each year.

Led by the LCC Stars Men’s Head Coach, the Game Camp consists of an evaluation of players by coaches, a draft, and a pick for teams. The players will stay with the same coach and team for the week. This camp will teach offense sets and team defense. Instructors will provide daily input for skill improvement. 

Basketball programming is for grades 3-8.  
Dates:  Session 1 (June 17-21), Session 2 (June 24-28), Session 3 (July 8-12).
Time: 9am-4pm (Monday-Thursday), 9am-12pm (Friday).

Led by LCC Stars Volleyball Head Coach, these camps will cover passing, serving, hitting, along with serve-receive drills while working on body position and movement skills associated with the game of volleyball.

Volleyball programming is for grades 6-12
The camp is July 29 – August 1.  5th – 8th grade is 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm and  9th – 12th grade is 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm

All of our summer camps run Monday through Friday. Campers can attend in the morning, afternoon, or all day! All sessions will have a snack provided. If your child is enrolled in both morning and afternoon classes, lunchtime supervision is provided–campers must bring their own lunch.
