High Caliber Karting and Entertainment

1982 Grand River Ave., Okemos 

A Kid-Friendly, High Caliber Experience.

High Caliber Karting’s Racing Camp is a week-long (Monday-Friday) fun-filled experience for racers 9-12 years of age. The basis of the camp is to have kids graduate with a Junior Racers Training Certificate and experience a community of laughter and joy. Our staff has each day structured to include racing, instructions and tips, games, lunch, and then more racing. 🏎️

When they graduate with that coveted certificate, they’ll have access to adult speed racing!

What’s Included

A full week of racing where kids 9-12 will graduate with a JUNIOR RACERS TRAINING CERTIFICATE at High Caliber Karting’s Race Camp, along with a provided lunch.

Hours of camp are 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Junior racers will receive dedicated race instruction from a seasoned racing expert. They will learn safe track behavior and common racing etiquette before hitting the track for instructor led training on how to attack the track. Racers will learn about proper race lines, apexes, brake points, drafting, and much more.

Age Info

Kids will be divided into two different age groups for the right go-kart fit.

Kids 9-12 will be racing the regular go-karts at junior speeds. After graduating they will get a Junior Racers Training Certificate which grants them access to adult go kart speeds at High Caliber!

Take It From The Top Summer – July 10 – July 21, 2023

Creative Kids – Rising 2nd through 4th grade 
Goal- to create a place where young people can be creative in a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment. We hope to spark a life-long love of performing arts as well as Wharton during this week. 

Five Day Intensive – Rising 5th through 12th grade 
Focus on educational opportunities for middle and high school students who have an interest in singing, acting, and dancing. This can be a path to the advanced program, or it can be a week to work on the craft in a lower pressure environment.  

Advanced Workshop – Rising 8th grade through college 
The goal is to attract the top musical theatre talent in MI and give them pre-professional experience. This two-week camp will combine skills classes in singing, acting, and dancing, as well as professional development in auditioning, personal branding, and more. The second week will culminate in a staged performance of Mean Girls. 

Adult Workshop – 18+ 
A creative and low-stakes place for adults in the community to participate in musical theatre. The workshop traditionally consists of learning a dance combination, having a chance to sing for feedback, and participate in a variety of improv and theatre games.

MSU Community Music School offers music education and music therapy services for all ages, abilities and incomes.

In Summer 2023 MSU Community Music School will offer early childhood music, private lessons and a variety of summer camps including music therapy camp, middle school band camp and beginning strings camp.

Soccer Kickers

Camp is held at Patriarche Park, 960 Alton Rd, East Lansing

We will cover a variety of topics such as proper way to dribble, pass, trap, shoot and more!  We will focus on technical, tactical, and mental training. We will also focus on 1 v 1 situation.

The camp will be taught by Soccer Kickers staff, a former professional soccer player who is also a current assistant coach at Great Lakes Christian College women’s and men’s team coach Gregory Louis.

Soccer Kickers four-day camps are open to players ages 6-15. We will divide players based on skill level and ages.

At the end of the camp, each camper will be able to understand the difference between attacking, defending and most importantly why passing and first touch are so important in soccer.

The camp will be taught by Soccer Kickers staff, a former professional soccer player who is also a current assistant coach at Great Lakes Christian College women’s and men’s team coach Gregory Louis.

The camps are open to boys and girls and players of all ability levels and sessions will range from beginner to advanced.

  1.  All players should bring cleats, shin guards, a water bottle and a snack (very important).
  2. All players will receive a t-shirt. In addition, we will have prizes or throw a party on the last day of the camp.
  3. We will provide all the equipment such as appropriate soccer ball size, cones, blaze pod, ladders etc.

School of Rock’s music camps offer an incredible selection of experiences from beginner music camps to intermediate and advanced sessions. Our music camps often include performance boot camps, artist-themed camps, songwriting and recording, and more—there’s a camp for every interest and skill level. Most music camps end with an epic live rock show performed by the campers.

Potter Park Zoo

Have a wild time at Potter Park Zoo!

Zookambi is a fun-filled day camp for students entering 1st -7th grade in the fall. All of our programs run Monday through Friday. Zookambi kids can attend in the morning (9:00-12:00), afternoon (1:00-4:00), or all day! All sessions will have a snack provided.

Camp Newaygo

Since 1926, Camp Newaygo has fostered a sense of belonging and love of the outdoors. There is nothing like spending their summers on Pickerel Lake, singing songs and making friends surrounded by woods and nature.  Family programs at Camp Newaygo are a great way to spend time together in the outdoors.

All programs create an engaging atmosphere for campers with a variety of activities including a 1000’ zipline, archery, kayaking, ceramics, darkroom photography, fencing, outdoor cooking, paddleboarding, sailing, swimming, tubing, ukulele lessons, wilderness trips and more. 

Camp Newaygo is accredited by the American Camp Association. Our staff are CPR-certified, First Aid-certified, and Waterfront Lifeguard-certified by the American Red Cross.

Mom & Me weekends in June are for young children and their moms, grandmothers, aunts or other special female adults.

Family Camp in May is a chance for everyone to come out to camp. Discover the joys of camping together. Sing, canoe, fish, hike, create, and recharge on these special weekends. Spend the night in our dorms, cabins, or hotel-style accommodations; and all meals are provided.

Girls’ overnight summer camp is intentionally small, enabling everyone to make their own choices and explore their emerging passions. Sessions are for girls ages 7 to 17 and range from a four day/three night mini-week to one-, two- and multi-week sessions.

Co-Ed Adventure Day Camp is for boys and girls entering first through seventh grades. Each week centers around an adventure and every day features educational and interactive activities.
